Testosterone Testing

Testosterone Testing Hampshire

Testosterone is the hormone released in men from puberty onwards. For the majority of men they sustain adequate testosterone levels throughout their life but for about 25% of men these levels fall.

Symptoms of testosterone include:

  • Loss of libido
  • Erectile Dysfunction (especially morning erections)
  • Reduced energy
  • Brain fog
  • Weight gain
  • Reduced muscle strength

Because testosterone deficiency symptoms can mimic a range of other medical conditions we do not just provide a stand alone blood test of one hormone. What we offer is a more holistic assessment so that we can provide you with a true understanding of your condition.

As part of the package you will have:

  • A 20 minute consultation with a GP
  • Blood testing for testosterone, diabetes, kidney health, anaemia and cholesterol
  • Contact from the GP to outline the results

Cost £195

Frequently asked questions about Testosterone testing:

Testosterone deficiency can present with similar symptoms to other medical conditions. The blood tests consider other possible causes of your symptoms.
Testosterone levels can fluctuate and a repeat blood test after 4 weeks is important to confirm the diagnosis. As part of this blood test additional hormones are tested to identify whether the cause is from brain hormones or testicular hormones.
Testosterone replacement is a lifelong treatment and being sure we have the diagnosis correct is important. This repeat blood test is £85.

If your levels remain low after the second blood test then we can discuss with you a trial of testosterone replacement- typically this is given as a daily gel you can use at home or as a 3 monthly injection we can give in the clinic. Whichever method you choose it will need blood test monitoring to assess response.
