Revela Clinic’s South Coast service is based at Coastal Private GP in Fareham, providing specialist assessment and treatment for patients across Hampshire and the surrounding area.
Care is led by consultant vascular and endovascular surgeons, with treatment individually planned around your symptoms, vein condition and personal priorities.
Meet your consultant vascular surgeons

The Fareham clinic is delivered by Mr Ahmed Shalan and Mr Ahmed Elbasty, consultant vascular surgeons who hold practising privileges at Coastal Private GP.
They provide continuity of care from your initial assessment and ultrasound scan through to treatment and follow-up.
Could a vein condition be affecting you?
You may benefit from a specialist vein assessment if you are experiencing:
- Visible or bulging varicose veins
- Thread or spider veins
- Aching, heavy or uncomfortable legs
- Leg swelling
- Itching or skin changes
- Recurrent inflammation around the veins
- Bleeding varicose veins
- Slow-healing wounds or venous leg ulcers
- Concerns about the appearance of your legs
Some symptoms can have several possible causes. A consultation and appropriate clinical assessment are required before treatment can be recommended.
Your initial consultation and vein scan
Your first appointment will include a consultation with a vascular surgeon and, where appropriate, a duplex ultrasound scan.
The scan allows your consultant to assess blood flow within the veins and identify underlying venous reflux. Your findings will be explained clearly, together with the treatment options that may be suitable for you.
Varicose vein treatments available
Depending on your assessment, Revela Clinic may recommend one or a combination of the following treatments:
- Radiofrequency ablation – a minimally invasive treatment for underlying venous reflux
- Foam sclerotherapy – ultrasound-guided injection treatment for affected veins
- Microsclerotherapy – treatment for thread veins and smaller visible veins
- Micro-phlebectomy – removal of prominent surface varicose veins through very small incisions
Your consultant will explain the recommended procedure, expected recovery, potential risks, benefits, alternatives and aftercare before treatment.
Not every treatment is suitable for every patient, and no procedure will be recommended without an appropriate medical assessment.
