Coastal Private GP Wellness Checks

Personalised Wellness checks for the Southampton area

So many conditions are preventable or treatable and getting in their early will keep you fit and well for as long as possible.

Sometimes we only think about our health when we’re not feeling well but it’s much better to think about our health before we are ill.

So many conditions are preventable or treatable and getting in their early will keep you fit and well for as long as possible.

Maybe you’re feeling just not right, a bit tired, lacking in energy or have a mixed bag of symptoms that you just can’t work out. Or maybe a family member has had a health scare and it’s just made you think more about your health.

Our health and wellness screens contains carefully selected investigations to give you a solid understanding of your health.

Our standard wellness screen £320 (bookable online).

The screen has 3 steps to the process:

a 20 minute appointment to gather the necessary information which includes blood tests, weight, blood pressure and urinalysis
Blood tests which cover blood count, liver health, kidney health, vitamin levels (iron, B12, folate and vitamin D), cholesterol and diabetes testing, thyroid health, prostate testing (male)
once all the results are back (normally around a week) you’ll have a 20 minute appointment with your GP to talk through your concerns, your results and how you can move forward.
Our wellness plus, enhanced screen £600 (phone reception to book)

The Wellness Plus, Enhanced Screening goes deeper than our standard check, adding an abdominal ultrasound scan and stool test alongside extended blood work and a lifestyle review. It’s ideal if you want a fuller picture of your health, peace of mind, or to catch issues early.

Our health and wellness screen contains carefully selected investigations to give you a solid understanding of your health. The screen has 5 steps to the process:

A 20 minute GP appointment gather the necessary information which includes blood tests, weight, blood pressure and urinalysis
Blood tests which cover blood count, liver health, kidney health, vitamin levels (iron, B12, folate and vitamin D), cholesterol and diabetes testing, thyroid health, ovarian cancer screening (female), prostate testing (male)
Bowel screening stool sample
An ultrasound scan that will cover upper abdominal (liver, spleen, gallbladder and abdominal aorta) and lower abdominal (prostate and bladder in men, ovaries and bladder in women)
A 20 minute follow up appointment with your GP around a week later to talk through all the results and a health plan

Knowing where you are in your health will give you the power to take control and make any changes you might need.

Ovarian Cancer Screening – £275
  • A pelvic scan to assess the ovaries, womb and pelvis
  • A blood test for ovarian cancer marker (CA-125)
PSA testing – £75

The PSA blood test is measuring the levels of prostate specific antigen. This marker can rise with a range of conditions that include prostate cancer. The test is not 100% reliable- it can show both false positives (in 75% of positive cases you will not have cancer) and false negatives (you have a normal test but you do have prostate cancer).

Men over the age of 50 (or age 40 with a family history) are likely to be most suitable for this blood test. If you have any prostate symptoms such as urinary symptoms, poor flow, getting up at night to pass urine or back/pelvic pain then it would be more suitable to book a GP appointment first to discuss this.

If your PSA level comes back raised you will be advised to either contact your NHS GP or book an appointment with a Coastal GP to discuss in more details.
